A sneak peek into the Heart of the Tidelands Epicenter...

Hello Earthchildren,

Here is a little Tasty Treat

for
your

eye-sockets!!!

(A Blue Heron and Great Heron Nature Study
for Tidelands Nature Center, Jekyll Island, Ga.
)

This is a sample of how the mural will look
as it progresses.
You'll remember I am working on a 14' x 11' mural.
You can see in the picture the twelve inch
primed and treated cedar planking I am working on.
It makes for a good painting texture
even with the gaps in between.
The mural will take on this level of
detail and accuracy to allow the client,
Tidelands Nature Center,
to be able to use the mural as a teaching aide
to Handicapped and Elderly People
who can't normally go
out and see these things first-hand.

Enjoy.

Come by and see it in Person at your
leisure. We will be happy to have you
and show you around!!!

Budcrest Out !!!

p.s. The pictures are on the dark side because they
are paintings of the woods and the woods are normally on the dark side.

Rolling in the Pot of Glorious Colors...

" Art is not a dead or an act recorded on paper or canvas,
nor is it finished when it's done.
Art has a life of it's Own.
Art lives on in the lives of those in whom it's seen;
before and after their first contact;
that person begins to ask question about why is that and what is this
and Their Life is never the same in the end, for better or for worst."

- Unknown.

People of the World I have a question! -

If you are turned down for an art job because the client thinks that you are too good and they can't afford you.

a.) Are you charging to much for your work !?!

b.) Should you have more options to offer your would-be clients!?! or,

c.) Should you just be happy that anyone is actually talking to you!?!

You answer this question World. And let me know the answer. I will post the results here.

I will start a Noblelements question and answer day once a week
on Thursday to open up the door to the World's questions about
THE LIFE OF ART.

By the light of the snapping turtle tank!!!

Good evening, Guys!

Been gone since Saturday. Went home to recoop. Feeling refreshed. Here I am.

I am posting tonight in the inner layers of Tidelands nature center. I am making the plan to complete this mural Sunday night. I have a good course layed out ahead of me which I constructed by some new painting techniques I learned to help speed along the Entire Painting process.

Enough of the technical mumbo-jumbo! I wanted to tell you how cool today was...I woke up at 5:30 a.m. in Jacksonville and drove here in 55 degree weather on the Burgman. It was a nice crispy ride! Proving myself as a true Hard-core Filipino scooter Master! I got to the Nature Center at 7:30 a.m. before anyone. So it allowed me to set up and unpack in relative peace. Although there was an early D.N.R. Tree Climbing Course going on across the road in the reserve. I was invited over. The Dude was like 63 and climbed trees for the Goverment in Panama. I hope I am in that kind of good Shape when I am getting that age. I was too busy to go over but I still went over and checked them out and brought the trainees extra water for the thirsty and the challenged. Anyways, I got back inside Tidelands and started cleaning off my sketch marks still left on top of the painted surface and then Melanie came in and saw my art, she's in charge of the entire 4-H staff on the island. She loved it and stayed a while to look at my portfolio. We talked awhile and discussed plans for doing some other projects on the island!!! She was very impressed with what I was doing and could not wait to see the final project. Getting back to work I started laying down the layers on the trees bark and limbs. I used some drybrush techniques along with some airbrush to give the trees a very realistic look. I will include pictures later. I worked from left to right on the mural and Top to bottom. I always feel like working the hardest section first allows you to conserve your creative energy later for when it is needed. I feel like I am gaining new levels of technique and style each painting I do, and that is a good feeling. I worked till 5:30 p.m. and brought some persimmon cake my Mom made to the three cooks that work at the 4-H center. Roosevelt is a gardener and has herbs and flowers growing outside of the restaurant. I think that is cool! Well, I ate ate Supper and am starting to work again. I already worked over to the middle trail halfway point and am going back to work now. I am taking pictures everyday of my process. So when I get done and have the time to post I will add them to the post. I like to show you how the painting process unfolds. Because sometimes...that is the Funnest part. Hee-Hee!!!

much love,
Buddicus Arellius

PSP posting in the buff...

Nov. the 2nd , 2007 :

Changing my clothes to get ready for a big day of painting!!! : )

Glad you are joining me here...
Started out the morning waking up before the Sun and answering the call off Nature out in the thickets of Salt Water Key. I looked up and noticed the sky was crystal clear with the chill and I could Mars and Venus very well, so well indeed that Mars looked like you could see that it was closer to me than the stars that surrounded it's back. Seeing that the sky was so clear I figured that the sunrise would be spectacular this morning. I saw a shooting star too! So I set out to Driftwood Beach to see the Sun rise. I got all my painting gear up and at them inside Tidelands Nature Center and locked the door behind me and set off down the road. I was looking all around me at the Woods in the pre-morning light to get a glimpse of what should make some interesting paintings. ( I plan on coming back and doing some plein-aire paintings for Sale. ) Right before I got to the Historic district I saw a lone, small, rogue White tail Buck stick his head out of the woods and dart across the road as he heard my Suzuki Burgman driving by. I noticed he had caught a large clump of Spanish Moss on his left Antler. It was super picturesque and I plan on using that image of him running out of the scene towards the forest in the Maritime Mural I am painting! ( Thank goodness for what nature lets you see. )
I saw a beaut of a sunrise at Driftwood beach and noticed a young couple snuggled up in what looked like hotel bed linen leaning back on an overturned tree waiting for the Atens to hit their face just like me. Hee-Hee. I'm not Egyptian. But the sun felt great on my cold face!!! I liked the light as it freshly poured onto the sleeping forest's behind me. ( Wake up bastard trees!)
The Hurricane off the coast has caused much Beach Erosion and has cast a lot of shells upon the beach that normally wouldn't be there. But instead of shell-combing today I headed over to the tree line to study how the soil was exposed by the rough surf last night in high tide. I am doing a cross cut section of Island soil and root systems on the Mural I am doing for Tidelands, so this was a perfect example of how it will look. I saved it in my mind...and now I am back at the center about to paint it. So, have a good day, guys, and remember to get outdoors and look around a little each day. You will never know what you will see... Hee-Hee-Hee. Maybe me peeing !!! ; )
Happy Painting!!! Till next Time...
The Bud.

Hello Everybody...welcome to the official first blog of the Noblelements Company. A Fine Arts company consisting of a team of multi-talented artist and helpers working hard to bring Art to all the World.

Here we go on a lovely journey behind the scenes of the works of a Traveling Fine Arts muralist and Sculptor. We will be posting and updating the blog as much as possible to give you an intimate look at the undertakings of an artist as he strives to remain the .003 % of the Human Population that are actually working at what they love and making a living doing at what they believe is their true purpose on this Earth.

Nov. 1st 2007:

" Looking at the First Lovely Sunset in a week due to inclimate weather from a huge Noreaster hanging over the Coastal side of Georgia's Golden Isles. I have been inside painting almost 15 hours a day on and off for two weeks! Although this weather does lend itself to one hunkering down inside and getting a lot done on their " Creative Checklist ".

I have been working at Tideland's Nature Center on the Southern end of Jekyll Island, Georgia, U.S.A. painting a 14' x 11' mural for the University of Georgia 4-H program. I was commissioned by the 4-H Program here to paint a mural depicting the wildlife of a Maritime Forest and the evolution into a Freshwater Slough Area, which exist naturally throughout the island. Being the only natural source of Fresh water, the " slough ", is the hub of most mammalian and reptile life on the island. Seeing how this institution is set up to educate the public on the Natural wonders of this beautiful island. I thought I would paint a mural that would allow the Staff at Tideland's to use the Painting as an visual teaching aide to inform and educate the public on the bountiful nature of this Island. And maybe they can take that knowledge and build a loving understanding that will help them be better "stewards" of their World. Through a lot of research, meetings with different wildlife professionals, and many sketches I came up with a design that sets a scene that portrays all the " Elements", both fauna and flora, that exist exclusively or near this island.

Come see it in it's entirety when I finish coming the week of Nov. 7th.

The address here is :
Tideland's Nature Center
100 S. Riverview Dr.

I will be posting pictures of the progress in the upcoming weeks. Then High-Res. Photos soon after. Check out and see!
